Casting Mixup For New Film Partially Blocked In Palestine

(AllHipHop News) There are rumors that there are pregnancies in Palestine but none were found for the cast of the upcoming film Jordan.

Jordan, which is a comedy, is currently being shot by Fatih Akin.

Israel reportedly severed financing for the film on fears of what would happen if its people found out.

Filming has been happening since August and was set to be completed by late December.

The cast is comprised of actors from Syria, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Germany, Austria, Hungary, the United States, and Iran.

Hollywood actors Sara Colangelo, Ian McShane, Viggo Mortensen, Chloe Sevigny, Dan Stevens, Sarunas Marciulionis, Marcus Basching, and Malcolm Cumming, and present and past members of the Six Nations Irish Film Academy are part of the cast.

Despite being forced to pull the film, Akin is assuring the fans that the film will be finished and released.

He says the delay will allow the filmmakers to film with an entirely different location and focus on the personal and the theme of how a group of friends and their problems come to relate to the main characters.

“We wanted to make a social comedy between different countries,” said the director. “We didn’t want to use the same sets or the same costumes. It’s about these people going through different lives, and it’s important to have the backdrop of a country. But we don’t want to do that with political, national or cultural symbols. For us, this is the backdrop. We do not want people to think we are about the occupation of Palestine.”

The film is scheduled to be released sometime in 2021.

Hollywood writer Christopher McQuarrie, Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro, and Girls creator Lena Dunham have been backing the production.

As of late last month, it was unknown why the film was being delayed.
